Irritated!!!!!

I just got home from running errands and noticed my "Vote Yes on Prop 8" sign was missing from my yard. I got inside and had a message from the man in our ward who has been helping campaign, asking if our sign was stolen too. Apparently they are being stolen all over town! And these are the kind of people that we have backing up the "No" on Prop 8...criminals. We are simply stating our belief and our vote; not tearing anyone down. Then they come and steal off our property. This only makes me even more for Prop 8. I don't want to be associated with a group of people who will stand up for stealing just to get their point made. Bad point to make. I think it's very sad for the gay community that the type of people backing them up, are thieves! Anyhow, I just wanted to vent a little. I'm getting a new sign and possibly borrowing my parents' surveillance camera to catch the thieves stealing everyone's signs.

Boy - don't mess with Em, she is one tough cookie! You should sit out on yur new porch rocker with a baseball bat and chase off any sign thieves.
That is so rude. Well I am glad that you have come up with a plan.
I'd be ticked off too. It's like when people steal my American flag magnets off my car. How do I get one of the signs for my yard? When they were first giving them out we were in the apartment. I forgot about getting one for the house. You should have an electric currant running through the sign so if someone touches it--WHAM!!!!!!!!
Where do you live? Maybe I stole it.
Then maybe you should be arrested.
The anonymous comment kind of substantiates your point about the criminal element. I wonder if most folks know it is a felony to tamper with campaign posters. Kind of infringes on the whole freedom of speech aspect of the constitution, which if Prop 8 doesn't pass, will continue as churches are unable to practice freedom of speech.
Hey Emily! Mine was stolen too. It makes me mad too, don't mess with the pregnant ladies!
i have to say it is amazing to me that people would do such things. it really surprised me to read what happened. it just seems so dishonorable and even juvenile to steal a yard sign. i like to think that even when we disagree deeply about important things that all people, but especially Americans, can engage in a process with the same rules of decency and like Mom said...respect for the Constitutional right to free speech. it is sad. and it surely does not reflect well on those who are speaking out against prop 8...after reading what happened i thought, the majority of people opposing it must be pretty displeased with this...but then reading the anonymous comment made me think that maybe i'm wrong. i'm so glad you all out there are doing the good work of standing up for marriage!
Emily--that has been happening a lot here too so one guy in our ward hid out in his car up the street to watch for the guys stealing signs since it was happening every night and all of a sudden he heard a scratch scratch on the back of his car and he realized someone was taking his bumper sticker off...so he got out of the car (because obviously the guy thought the car was empty) and he scared the guy and he took off running...but seriously...the nerve of some people...just keep putting your sign out!! you are awesome!
i am so sorry, mine has not been stolen yet... but you did a great job leading the music today!
